Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is what we call solution-focused, It works in the here and now and helps you find coping skills and strategies which are relevant to you’re growth. Sometimes we know where our negative thoughts and behaviours are coming from we just need skills to deal with them in a more productive way. If it’s a big life event its not always easy to “get over it” (FYI I hate the sentence) its about working around it and learning different ways to cope/deal with it. No two people are alike no matter even if they have had similar life events we all react in our own way and its about creating our new normal as life event imprint on us and sometimes its about looking at the event and challenging our thoughts around it to give us a different perception of that event.
